But again, everyone is on the bandwagon; Keane's mistake this, I can't believe he did that etc. Now I for one am happy with a point, we're three games unbeaten, and are at home to Derby on Saturday.

Why am I so positive? well look at the facts, yes 14 games and no wins, but we have drawn eight and lost six. Now look at the other teams close to us, lost loads more, except they've won one or two. Where am I going with this? Well, say we beat Derby on Saturday and follow that up with another win, that's two, the same as Plymouth, out of the drop zone and about 18th I believe we could be. A third win after that and that's mid-table.

So, why so glum everyone? Yes, wins are great but don't forget draws are important too. Our backline are stronger, the midfield are starting to create opportunities and I truly feel Keane will stick with Stead and Walters up front to start banging them in.

If you have workmates, wives, girlfriends etc who laugh at where we are, keep saying this to them We may be bottom of the league, but no one can beat us!

This is the important thing, the win will come, but not every team can become invincible!

Poor poor blog draws are not good enough! If we went through the whole season drawing 8 and losing 6 we would go down!

Again winning the next two games would be amazing but I dont see it happening and cant see how you think we will?

My girlfriend will continue to laugh at us because she has witnissed ipswich lose on numerous occasions this year so i have no backup in saying no one can beat us! Were bottom of the leaguie STILL without a win!

Callum - im a fan that does respect your comments, I know others dont, the reason i do is the fact that - being honest i feel excactly how you do, but, more importantly i do look at the positives in life, why get so worked up about results, not you personally but people overall - why get so angry about results why? does it earn you less money withinyour job? No, does it decide not to cook you dinner? no.
its football, a sport, something we choose to watch.
Callum i Know we shouldnt be bottom, but we are - and i Know deep down, if you are in fact a town fan, you will also look at positives, the difference between me and you - Im not afraid to show my feelings, .

CGS i'm guessing that everyone who knows you finds you a depressing person, who just moans about everything and everyone. Nice to see your girlfriend supporting you. You know what they say, what goes round comes round :-)

We need to go on a run of more than half a dozen wins to get to roughly mid table, because the table does not stand still. We are 12 points down on say being above Swansea. And that would be assuming that all those teams went on a run of draws of 6 matches or win one lose 2 runs. If they do anything better than that we are having to run more than 6 on the bounce. Maybe it wont be a run, maybe it is we would have to win 6 more games over the rest of the season that we would not normally expect to win... thats still a big ask. Not impossible but tough.
I hope Keane can do it.

Town could draw every game this season and we would almost be certainly relegated.

The fact is we gift goals to weaker opposition when we should not. Watford, 1-1, but Watford go on to beat Wednesday 4-1. We go to a bottom of the league Plymouth and are lucky to walk away with a 1-1.

League results are all about consistancey, control and creating chances in front of goal. We are not consistant, we defensively have no control and we are failing to create any real chances up front.

The game of football is all about putting the round bouncey thing in the big netty thing. There have been several games this season when the team have forgotten that simple fact. Why we seem to spend so much time aimlessly passing the ball with no "objective" puzzles me. I don't want us to be a Wimbledon but it would be nice if we had a team who had the cahoonas to shoot from 18-30 yards rather than passing to either the opposition or nobody in particular.

Why are you saying no one can beat us ? Including the Peterboro cup game seven teams have beaten us and Barnsley beat us 2 saturdays ago ?
Its a very positive post which i commend you on but if we are clinging on to the fact that we havent been beaten in 3 games !! against average to lower scale teams in our division the post is a bit worrying as we havent won in 16 games so rather than invincible we look a tad poo !!!!

saying we are getting harder to beat is not saying we will be happy to draw all of our games. Being hard to beat is a springboard for getting wins. We trounced watford, could have won by a few goals and a few days later they thump sheff wed 4-1. That is why the majority of us are optimistic that we can start picking up the points to pull us clear of the relegation zone. Also because we dont arrogantly dismiss the opposition as no hopers we dont expect to blow them all away and dont have games 'we should win'. Every team in this league on their day can beat any other, if not with pure footballing skills then with hard work and determination. If you go with the attitude on saturday that derby are a poor team and should be an easy win then u r opening yourself up for more heartache, they will give 100%. We need to match that and we also need a stroke of luck, and a positive, vocal, and encouraging crowd.

Superblueflude... i went on saturday and if they had put there two chances away in the first half both bad misses the game would have been over however well we played in the second half.It was only a back pass mistake that allowed us in ,and Quinns shot cleared off the line? was going wide anyway ,they had a better chance right at the end also so maybe a slight bit of luck we got the draw

Thanks Superblueflude - I needed an injection of positive thought, as my faith has been sorely tested after the weekend!! I am finding it harder and harder to argue in favour of Keano, given our ever lengthening winless streak ..... but like you say, we ARE unbeaten in 3, we ARE conceding fewer goals (although seem to also be scoring fewer, d'oh!), and the strength and quality of most of the squad (if it hasn't yet settled and gelled properly) is there for all to see. I was hoping that these few 'easier' (winnable) games in Oct would have yielded at least one win to set the ball rolling, but it hasn't yet come to pass. But I will be there against Derby, I have scraped enough pennies together to go to Reading, and will cheerfully attend most of the remaining games of the season (at least the home ones anyway, as I can't afford too many away matches), and I will renew my season ticket of many years EVEN IF we go down.

So much against the evidence, I will continue to back Keano. Can't really say why - call it instinct, call it gut feeling - I just know that we need to.

KEANO!!

Surco what is all this luck business it's not luck, nothing to do with luck, end of day - home side was plymoth ont town, we earned the draw, and with plymouht parking the side on the goal line i thought we played well considering this.

I'm everything but a depressing person! Good job, good family in fact the only thing wrong at the moment is my teams inability to win games!

Would you rather me come on here an be happy about the positives????? I will first show me a positive and i'll be all smiles for ya!

I can see it now - we draw every remaining game go down and all you lot would be jumping with joy - were unbeaten in 30 od games were the best i the division!

Some of you really need to wake up and smell the coffee! Bottom of the league is the only stat i and all you lot should need!

CGS if as you say the only thing wrong in your life is the towns results then i am completely flabbergasted. I wonder what a member of our armed services serving in Afghanistan would make of you? Imagine if you were out there, underfunded and underequipped. I bet they would love your 'realistic' and 'pragmatic' bleating. They would see you as a real morale booster. More likely you would be one of the protestors hurling insults at them when they return from their tour of duty cos they havent won yet

So we can only say it is luck if it is games when we should have won ,for a team who all they did was defend they had better chances ,the same amount on target and more possesion than us .
And Dr Jeckyll i agree there a lot more important issues in life than football but this is a website about Ipswich not polictics or peoples private lives . I run a business and employ a certain amount of people and if i had hired someone to do a job for me and after 6 months i believed we were in a worst position than when he started i would review it,that would not be anything personal just it is not working .
Come on the blues a win against Derby -Stead and Garvan to start !!

P.S. listen to the words of sir bobs favourite song 'My Way' . You might find it inspiring. I would love to see us adopt it as our club anthem. Anyone else in favour?

Christ I hope we start turning things around very very soon ,if anything to put an end to these monotonous blogs which are absolute drivel..Is Keane writing them all himself?

The fact is it's almost time to start putting up the Xmas decs and we're still waiting for our first win..patience is someting I had in buckets last season when we were in the top half of the table and a couple of wins out of the play-offs..my patience has just about completely worn out with Keane..he says he's happy with a point and that we're creating plenty of chances - yes ,against the calibre of Barnsley,Watford & Plymouth - there'd be something wrong if we were'nt wouldn't there Roy?

A good manager is one that can get the best out of the squad of players that he has at his disposal, not a manager who has to churn out a dozen players and bring in a dozen players of his own choosing then plant us at the foot of the table for weeks on end.

I wasn't much of a fan of Aidy Boothroyd but what he's done at colchester has been miraculous - maybe we should've looked at him rather than just a "big name" to begin with?...I wonder what BFJ would be able to do with our squad too?

Lightnig - question is it just coincedence that Magilton is doing better with GPR than he did with town, just like Keane was better with Sunderland than he is with town - so maybe the squad isnt as good as everyone wants to make ot, maybe Garvan, Wright etc arent that good!.
Keanes re-building and even thought we're not in a great league posistion - YET there are plenty of games left - all you sort of fans needt o do is forget promotion this year -that is not the target, its building a team ready for the premiership and i for one -we wait
